8-week Kids Yoga Course

Term 3, New Lynn

3.30pm - 4.30pm

31 July - 18 Sept

Tuesday afternoons at The Nest New Lynn

Come and join mother and son duo, Tanya and Ethan, every Tuesday afternoon for some upside down fun. Children will learn yoga poses through a series of fun games and flows, as well as learning to move their bodies with the breath and build strength while calming their minds and encouraging a sense of self-acceptance and understanding of others. Each session will end with a guided meditation, with stories to give them ideas and tools to help deal with negative emotions like fear, anxiety and anger.

This is a fun and playful introduction to yoga for children 6-10 years.

About the teacher: Tanya Holak is a qualified Yoga Teacher. She teaches Vinyasa and traditional Hatha yoga and being a mum, she is super passionate about educating our future generation of Yogi’s.

Please note this is a kids yoga course and due to the development of the children we will not be taking any new participants after 2-weeks after the course commences.

Kirtan & Meditation

Gold Coin Donation

10.45am - 1.00pm, the third Sunday of each month

Join non-profit, charitable group Amma for traditional and soulful kirtan followed by meditation and a light lunch. Kirtan is a deep spiritual practice which relaxes the mind so that the heart may open to the divine, allowing us to taste the blissful reality that is our true nature. The word kirtan, or kirtana, means ‘telling, narrating, enumerating or describing’ and originates from the Vedic period. When we chant in a group, music’s ability to bring people together allows the energy of the whole room to be transported to another level. The modern kirtan movement is a great way to immerse ourselves in traditional spiritual practices.

No music, kirtan or meditation experience is required.  This is a child friendly event.

Upcoming dates:

- 16th September

No bookings required, do not need to be a member of The Nest to join.
